BBDC Guidebook for Pharmacists referenced in MOHLTC’s Professional Pharmacy Services Guidebook 3.0

MedsCheck Diabetes is the only disease specific medication review program in Ontario.  Informed by recent research findings from the Ontario Pharmacy Research Collaboration, the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care has announced changes to the program that will take effect October 1, 2016.

This month, the MOHLTC released a “Professional Pharmacy Services Guidebook 3.0” to support pharmacists in the implementation of these changes. We are very pleased to announce that the Banting & Best Diabetes Centre Guidebook for Pharmacists on Diabetes Management along with the Canadian Diabetes Association Clinical Practice Guidelines are referenced as the guiding resources for pharmacists when completing MedsCheck Diabetes, Diabetes Education or Follow-up assessment.
