Counsel All Patients on the Safe Use of SGLT2 Inhibitors

Too many times, we hear stories of patients who continued to take an SGLT2 inhibitor when they became sick and had vomiting and/or diarrhea. This greatly puts them at risk of serious adverse effects like DKA and acute kidney injury. It is our responsibility as healthcare providers to advise every patient prescribed or dispensed an SGLT2 inhibitor on what to do should they become sick in the future.

Download our new, free practice tool via the link below, to help you safely use SGLT2 inhibitors in your practice. Take the pledge to agree to counsel ALL patients prescribed an SGLT2 inhibitor at the time they are started on the medication about sick day management and share the following link with your colleagues today.
